Hidden City Café is the creation of Justyn McNicholl and his wife Bronagh and can be found snuggly tucked up on London Street within the historic Derry City Walls, close to the famous Bishops Gate and beside the majestic neo-gothic, St Columb’s Cathedral.
The cafes aim, is to not only create delicious healthy, tasty food but to also provide a different eating experience. Now in its fourth year, the eatery has gained a reputation for fair-trade organic freshly roasted coffee and teas, and an imaginative wholesome freshly prepared menu offering GF, shellfish, chicken, vegan and vegetarian choices. Hidden City Cafes ethos has always supported local producers; such as Ann Marie’s’ Vegan Cakery, Broighter Gold, Donegal Prime Fish and Rough Brothers beer, to name but a few of the many LegenDerry food artisans and producers in the North West.
Opening Friday and Saturday evenings, offering evening and chat plate menu! The cafes cool interior and brilliant playlist has created an intimate ambiance and has quickly become a must do destination for both locals and visitors to the city. Alongside serving up tasty food and chat plates in a safe environment, there is a superb selection of fair-trade and organic wines, spirits and local brewed beers. (all vegan friendly).
Justyn, Bronagh and their two sons alongside the lovely, friendly staff, are following their passion in creating an ethical environment, dishing up delicious flavoursome food, drinks and welcomes, all to the soundtrack of some stonking good music.
